We’ve just been invited to a wedding where there will be no formal speeches but the bride and groom would ‘like our friends to feel free to call for silence and say something (nice!) or read a verse, or just say Hooray or raise a toast’.
Although this goes against Speechy’s basic principles of being prepared… we absolutely love this idea. Firstly, it’s cool to be so casual (the wedding’s dress code is also ‘what makes you happy’). Secondly the idea ensures only people who really want to speak do. And crucially, expectations are not stupidly high.
It should be fun!
