About Us

Speechy is an elite team of wedding speech writers, with a background scriptwriting at the BBC and working with the UK’s top TV talent. Between us, we’ve won BBC writer awards, written for well-known comedy programmes, directed shows at the Edinburgh Fringe and worked with numerous celebs including Richard Hammond, Dan Snow, Sharon Osbourne, David Mitchell and Mel Giedroyc.

Speechy formed after Heidi delivered a rather memorable bride’s speech and discovered, rather than the usual clichéd jokes & outdated etiquette, guests like something a bit different these days – i.e. a speech that’s unique and kick-starts the day with a bang.

Speechy was born in 2015 & the team have now worked with hundreds of happy clients around the world – all of whom say we’ve added something special to their day.

Broadcast Quality

We apply the same production values to every wedding speech that we do to producing prime-time BBC telly. If seven million people wouldn’t series-record your speech, well quite frankly, it’s not good enough.

Story Hunters

We put good story telling at the heart of every speech. It needs to be more than a few funny anecdotes and a thank you list. We help you discover #whatsyourstory and get people excited about it.

Cliché Killers

We ditch the outdated etiquette and clichéd platitudes that leave guests checking their phone under the table. ‘Soulmate’ is one of the words on our banned list.

Funny Farmers

We’re organic farmers when it comes to our humour. We find people’s lives funny enough without resorting to wedding jokes even granny’s heard before.

Speechy Love

We love the diverse challenges you set us. Whether it’s a fast-turnaround speech you need for the weekend or a wedding speech that needs to entertain a multi-lingual audience, we love exceeding your expectations. Maybe that’s why we’re the most popular wedding speech writing service on the Hitched Wedding Directory.

Hand Holders

We get people excited about giving a speech rather than dreading the process of writing it. This is an opportunity to drop a love-bomb on someone and we want you to blooming relish it.

#whats your story

Best man, bride, dad – whoever – we’ve all got a cracking story to tell. So what’s the plot and who’s the central character? Whatever your story, we’ll help you nail it.

Words Worth Framing

Words are like mini-atom bombs in our souls. They have the power to excite us, shock us and change the way we feel. That’s why we craft words worth framing.

#better man

Best man speeches need to get better. For years they’ve fallen victim to terrible templates and powerpoint-overload. We’re on a mission to bring back the art of good storytelling to best man speeches.

The Speechy Team

We’re leading the ballsy bride revolution. We don’t think any bride needs her bloke to ‘speak on behalf of her’ when she’d normally wallop him if he tried?

Rule breaker?

Don’t get bogged down in excessive wedding speech etiquette – we’re on a mission to can the clichés. If you like what you’ve seen so far, check out our Speechy Rules, to give you a head start on writing your speech.

In the Media

Speechy are the go-to experts for modern speech advice. Our wedding speech advice has featured in The Observer, Radio 1, The Daily Mail, Rock n Roll Bride and Moss Bros.

We’ve recently been interviewed by Eamonn Holmes (who was desperate for advice on how to deliver a speech at his son’s wedding) and had our tips quoted on Radio 2 by the King of the Love Song, Steve Wright.

Our #thisbridewill campaign was also supported by BadassWomen’sHour.
